Elegantly Wasted

Sometimes we wish we had made the right decision . I'll explain : sometimes , instead of going to a party or a family reunion , we should stay at home , watching a film , reading , or sleeping . Sometimes we just get fed up . People talk but we don't listen . People dance , but we stay quiet . People laugh and we just can't seem to understand what the heck are they laughing of .

But , since we are , "civilized" people we must keep pretending . We have to laugh even when people's jokes just aren't funny . We have to talk in order to give the impression that we are not some wild beasts . We have to mingle . If we don't wish to dance , at least we must pretend that we're having fun , especially when the only thing that's in our minds is to get away from there .

Family reunions are really "masters" when it comes to making us regret the fact that we didn't stay at home . All those questions about our l#$e life , school , job perspectives , sometimes make us want to scream .

Even so , we must keep pretending . Yes , we may be tired , but we mustn't show that we're tired . We must show that we are "elegantly wasted " .
